#BBBSocial – My First Blogging Event

On Saturday I attended my very first blogging event. I have to say Iโ€™m very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I was nervous and apprehensive beforehand but there was definitely no need to be.

#BBBSocial was amazing! I enjoyed every minute of it! I look forward to following what everyone gets up to! Thank you @blackbritishbloggers

There was a Twitter chat the week before so solo bloggers like me could connect with other bloggers to make the experience less daunting. This is exactly what I did and I met the lovely Aisha Rimi.

Needed a full shot of my outfit today ๐ŸŒž . . . . . #ootd #lbloggers #lbloggersuk #bb_bloggers #blackswhoblog #blackbritishbloggers #fblogger

The event was very well organised and I canโ€™t wait to attend the next one!

It was a great way to network and the speakers offered some really great advice. Not only were the speakers fantastic but there were also some great exhibitions there with the availability to purchase and sample products.

We'd like to say a massive thankyou to everyone who took the time to have a chat with us at yesterday's @blackbritishbloggers #BBBSocial event ๐Ÿ™Œ It was so nice to meet all of you! ๐Ÿ’›

But In all honesty my key focus was networking and hearing what the speakers had to say. Iโ€™ll share with you the key things I and the other lovely attendees learnt from this blogging event:

  • Get to the heart of who you are
  • Be Patient, Progressive and Professional
  • Focus on where you are

  • Content is Queen
  • Collaborate and build your community
  • Connect with your local press

  • Show your personality
  • Be professional
  • Whoโ€™s deadline is it anyway? Work at your on pace
  • PR your blog
  • Your perspective is important

  • Everyone has influence
  • Capitalise on your influence

  • Shoot RAW for Lightroom
  • Join Flickr and 500px
  • Vimeo is good for creatives
  • Use a ND Filter for outdoor photography
  • Use diffused lighting โ€“ improves video / image quality
  • Invest in a 5 in 1 reflector

For any bloggers who didnโ€™t get to go this time you really did miss out! Be sure to follow Black British Bloggers to hear about the next one.

As always shine bright Stars!
